Queensgate Shopping Centre proudly presented a £5,000 cheque to Peterborough Pride, as part of its ongoing backing for the organisation and the centre’s commitment to supporting the LGBTQ+ community.

Verity Swinscoe-Wigmore, Marketing & Events Co-ordinator of Queensgate Shopping Centre, expressed her enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, “We are delighted to support Peterborough Pride and their incredible work in promoting LGBTQ+ rights and giving people a voice.

“Queensgate has supported Peterborough Pride and the LGBTQ+ community for many years, as have our shops, and it’s positive to see our support grow year on year. With our ‘together’ attitude, we can make a real difference to many lives.”

Peterborough Pride, a prominent organisation advocating for LGBTQ+ rights and awareness, will utilise the funds to support various initiatives, including educational programs, community outreach, and events aimed at promoting acceptance and understanding.

This year, Queensgate Shopping Centre also supported Peterborough Pride through turning it’s outside lights rainbow, changing its social media profile, displayed a large Pride flag in North Square, and created a vibrant Pride-themed shop window as well as sharing Pride products and inspiration from it’s shops.

Additionally, Queensgate has provided a dedicated space to host various events throughout July and August, ensuring that the spirit of Pride continues to thrive all summer long.
