Queensgate Shopping Centre are working in proud collaboration with Heritage Bengal Global and Bengali Sanskriti Club Peterborough and are happy to announce two remarkable events this February and March: the Bengal Heritage Idol and a special International Women’s Day inspired Fashion Show.

On 22 March 2025, Queensgate Shopping Centre will proudly host the Bengal Heritage Idol, an event of monumental cultural importance. The Bengal Heritage Idol was created by students of a design school in Kolkata, made from recycled materials.

This stunning artwork, will be on display at Queensgate for a month-long showcase, offering visitors a chance to experience the artistry and cultural significance of one of the largest festivals in the world.

Ana, whose passion project brought this event to life, expressed her excitement:
"We invite the public to join us for the unveiling of this historic event and witness the convergence of tradition, art, and sustainability. The idol will be on display as part of the opening celebrations with cultural performances, promising an inspiring start to what will be a year-long journey of culture and unity.”

In addition, on 8 March, Queensgate will celebrate International Women’s Day with a community-driven fashion show that highlights and empowers the women of Peterborough. Taking place in March, this event will feature women from all walks of life showcasing their unique stories, styles, and strength on the runway.

The Bengal Heritage Idol will be on display from 22 March to early April, while the International Women’s Day Fashion Show will take place on 8 March. Both events promise to be unforgettable experiences that highlight the unique blend of culture and community at Queensgate Shopping Centre.
