Queensgate Shopping Centre’s Christmas season was filled with festive cheer and the spirit of giving, as kind-hearted visitors helped raise an incredible £4,214.80 for The Salvation Army Peterborough.

Alongside the generous financial contributions, the centre’s Donation Box Appeal collected approximately 2,000 gifts, which were distributed to around 400 children in need.

The funds raised will directly support The Salvation Army’s vital social work projects in Peterborough, including the day centre and homeless services. The donated toys brought joy to children supported by these initiatives, providing a brighter Christmas for families facing challenging circumstances.

Michael Gibbs, a spokesperson for The Salvation Army Peterborough, shared his gratitude:

“First of all, on behalf of The Salvation Army Peterborough, thank people in Peterborough so much for all their generosity and support during this Christmas period, making our visits with the Band such a success.

“We were delighted to be able to add a touch of festive magic for visitors to the centre by sharing the Christmas message through our music. Again, thank you to Queensgate for making us your charity for the Christmas Tree Toy Appeal this year, for which we are very grateful. Having delivered some of the toys myself, I know they were greatly appreciated.”

Queensgate’s Christmas campaign featured a host of festive activities, including performances by The Salvation Army Citadel Band, which created a magical atmosphere while sharing the joy of Christmas.
