Behind the Scenes: Keeping Queensgate Safe Through Multi-Agency Training
At Queensgate, the safety and wellbeing of our visitors, retailers and colleagues is always our top priority.
On Wednesday 17th June, we hosted a multi-agency training exercise designed to bring together key emergency services and on-site teams in a realistic scenario. These exercises are an essential part of ensuring we are fully prepared to respond effectively to a wide range of situations.
Working in collaboration with Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue, East of England Ambulance Service and Cambridgeshire Police, the exercise allowed teams to practise coordinated responses in real time. Alongside our partners, our Savills Safety+ team and Queensgate security area managers were also on site, playing a key role in the operation.
Exercises like this are carefully planned to create realistic environments, helping everyone involved to test procedures, improve communication and strengthen decision-making under pressure. While they take place behind the scenes, their impact is incredibly important in ensuring a safe and secure environment for everyone who visits Queensgate.
Strong partnerships are at the heart of what we do. By working closely with local emergency services and regularly reviewing our processes, we are continually evolving and strengthening our approach to safety.
For our visitors, this means you can enjoy your time at Queensgate with confidence, knowing that robust plans are in place and that teams are trained, prepared and ready to respond if ever needed.

Supporting Safety & Collaboration at Queensgate
In June 2026, Queensgate welcomed officers from Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire, Norfolk & Suffolk Police for a pre-planned multi-force training exercise within the centre.
The visit formed part of ongoing operational activity aimed at strengthening collaboration between forces, enhancing situational awareness, and ensuring continued readiness in a busy public environment. As part of the exercise, firearms officers conducted observational and familiarisation activity across the town centre, making use of selected areas within Queensgate’s car parks and surrounding spaces. These exercises are essential in helping teams simulate real-life scenarios and maintain a high level of preparedness.
The activity was carefully coordinated in advance to ensure minimal disruption to visitors and retailers, while still providing valuable training opportunities for the teams involved. Exercises like this play an important role in supporting emergency services and reinforcing strong, effective response capabilities.
Queensgate’s Operations Director was pleased to welcome the teams on site and had the opportunity to meet officers during their visit, marking the occasion with a brief photo. The visit highlighted the importance of strong partnerships and shared responsibility when it comes to maintaining a safe and secure environment.
